Family’s Holiday Horror: Bed Bug Infestation at UK Resort Sparks £1,250 Settlement

Our client, Gillian Browne from Southport, was on a UK holiday with her family in September 2021, staying at the Pendine Sands Holiday Park in Wales. Upon waking up on the first morning, she discovered multiple bites on her back, arms, legs, and feet. Upon inspecting the bed, she found it infested with bed bugs. Gillian took photographs of the bed bugs and reported the issue to the resort staff before leaving.

Gillian sought the help of the Holiday Claims Bureau, and after negotiations, she was able to secure a settlement of £1250. She described the experience as “horrendous and distressing” and questioned how such a situation could occur, especially during the pandemic when cleanliness is essential.
