Eftalia Blue Antalya Turkey Holiday illness claims

Holidaymakers hospitalised following their stay at Eftalia Blue, Antalya, Turkey

Our team of holiday illness solicitors have recently been inundated with enquiries from British holidaymakers who have returned from their stay at the 4-star all-inclusive package holiday resort, Eftalia Blue, Antalya, Turkey.

Guests, including young children, have reportedly contracted cryptosporidium; a microscopic parasite that can cause symptoms of sickness, diarrhoea, a fever, loss of appetite and if left untreated, can cause serious illness.

Michael Walker, partner of Holiday Claims Bureau commented: “We are actively representing clients who have, in some cases, been hospitalised due to becoming unwell during their stay at the Efalia Blue resort. Young children have also been very unwell and we have been made aware of many others who have been affected.

“A hard earned holiday should not result in holidaymakers becoming unwell due to poor food and hygiene failings, and vouchers being offered by tour operators are substantially less compared to the amount of compensation tourists can legally claim, and are entitled to.

“I would recommend people to contact us as their first port of call to receive expert legal advice from an experienced solicitor who can help them to achieve the highest compensation award possible, on a no win no fee basis

“We were stuck in our room for most of the holiday!”

On TripAdvisor, Dave, who was amongst a group of 9, travelled to the Eftalia Blue to enjoy their Summer holiday. It was the first time 5 of the children had been abroad.

But, on the second day of their holiday, one person after another began suffering symptoms of sickness and diarrhoea, leaving them confined to their room for the entire week.

“The first person went down with D&V. At first we thought maybe just too much sun then the second member went down with the same. Over the course of the next 7 days every single one of us went down with it. This meant that we were stuck in our hotel room for most of the holiday” Dave said.

“Travelling home was awful with 2 of the children being poorly on the plane. Never again will I fly with sun express but that’s a different story.

“On arriving home, our 10yr old was still unwell and was taken to hospital. Test results came back positive for Cryptosporidium, likely caught from the pool and also likely that is what we had all suffered with while out there. We have now been back for over a week and none of us have yet fully recovered” Dave added.

Other guests have turned to TripAdvisor to alert others about the outbreak, claiming food poisoning has also led to whole families becoming ill.

On day 8 of our 10 day holiday we had a “kebab” as part of our dinner from the buffet and as a result my husband, my son and myself all ended up with awful food poisoning and continued to have severe symptoms throughout our travel home”
