Newcastle Friends Take Legal Action After Food Poisoning Taints Their Turkish Holiday
A group of friends from Newcastle are determined to seek justice after their dream holiday at the Sueno Golf Club Hotel in Antalya, Turkey, turned into a harrowing experience. The Holiday Claims Bureau has taken up their case to uncover the cause of their severe holiday illnesses.
Daniel Robinson, 31, and 18 friends embarked on a golfing getaway to the Sueno Golf Club Hotel in Turkey on September 20th, 2023. They had arranged their one-week, all-inclusive vacation through Golfbreaks Limited.
A Holiday Illness catastrophe
Unfortunately, what was meant to be a memorable trip took a distressing turn. Fourteen out of the 19 holidaymakers fell seriously ill during the holiday, suffering from symptoms of gastric illness, including vomiting, diarrhoea, and stomach cramps.
Daniel Robinson, upon returning home, found himself seriously unwell. He sought medical attention at a local walk-in centre, which subsequently referred him to a nearby A&E department. There, he received intravenous (IV) antibiotics and was prescribed anti-sickness tablets. A stool sample analysis confirmed the presence of salmonella. Regrettably, Daniel continues to endure the lingering symptoms of IBS.

Further Salmonella Concerns At The Golf Club Hotel:
Among the group, another traveller, Jack Parkinson, aged 31, also fell ill on the final day of their holiday. His symptoms included diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. Upon returning home, he visited his GP, who requested a stool sample. The results, sadly, confirmed that Jack had contracted salmonella.
In light of their dire situation, the group decided to instruct the Holiday Claims Bureau to investigate their illnesses and lodge a food poisoning claim.
Michael Walker, a Partner representing Holiday Claims Bureau, expressed his concerns about the situation. He noted, “It is very worrying to hear about the symptoms suffered by so many of this travelling party as a result of going on holiday. Many of them continued to suffer with symptoms when they returned home. Contracting salmonella can be very serious and lead to long-term gastric problems. Daniel, Jack, and the rest of the party want answers over what caused them to become ill.”
