TUI Holiday Illness Claims

If you have had your holiday ruined by illness or injury caused by the negligence of a TUI package hotel, you may be eligible to pursue a package holiday claim for compensation.

Next steps towards putting things right

British all-inclusive holidaymakers are in some cases unaware of their right to claim here in the UK. Instead of seeking legal advice, some complain direct to the tour operator or even the hotel itself.  They are sometimes offered vouchers or substantially lower forms of compensation as a ‘good will gesture’ that does not represent the true extent of their suffering and losses.

At Holiday Claims Bureau, we recommend taking the following steps in order to build a strong case towards receiving the maximum compensation you are entitled to:

Gather as much evidence as possible

If you can provide any photographs that could help to show problems that might have caused your illness or injury, keep electronic copies saved.

If you have received medical treatment whilst on holiday, or upon your return to the UK, you should note the contact name and address details of the medical establishment you have attended.

Keep the contact details of anyone else you meet who has experienced similar problems on their holiday or who may be able to assist as a witness.

You should also keep copies of any evidence that helps to show that you were ill or injured.  Examples include photographs, receipts for medication and/or photographs of packaging and correspondence between you and the tour operator or hotel.

Let us start your case now in just 3 simple steps

Start Your Claim
Formally report the illness or injury you have suffered

On-resort, you should report any illness or injury within your party to your tour representative and ask for a copy of the report.  Circumstances sometimes mean this is not possible.

Avoid accepting compensation from the tour operator without seeking legal advice

You could be at risk being severely under-compensated by accepting an offer of compensation or ‘good will gesture’ directly from TUI.  It is also important to note that if you do accept any form of compensation from the tour operator, it could make it more difficult to seek further damages later.

Seek legal advice from a specialist No Win No Fee package holiday solicitor

Your package holiday solicitor will discuss your case, and should be able to act on a No Win No Fee basis. They will explain the claims process and how they can help you to recover the maximum compensation you deserve by assessing a claim for both ‘General Damages’ (the compensation you could receive for the illness or injury you have suffered) and ‘Special Damages’ (the compensation you could receive for any financial loss, cost of medical care, treatment, loss of earnings and any other reasonable expenses you have incurred too)
